Born in Barcelona in 1978. He graduated in Cinematography at ESCAC (The Cinema and Audiovisual School of Catalonia) in 2001 and completed his academic education with a two-year masters degree at the National Polish Film School in Lodz that somehow determined the course of his career.
Arnau has worked as Director of Photography on over ten feature films to date. His work has always been met with praise and recognition, including prizes for Best Cinematography at the Rome Film Festival for Mai Morire (Dir. Enrique Rivero), Best Cinematography at the Gaudi Awards for Eva, and a Goya Academy nomination for the same film.
His passion for camerawork and storytelling has led him to work for other directors and cinematographers as second unit Director / DoP. His last project was shooting second unit for JA Bayona’s Penny Dreadful pilot (ShowTime), produced by Sam Mendes, as well as for Bayona’s film A Monster Calls. He has also shoot internationally acclaimed music videos for bands like Justice (New Land), Citizens (True Romance) and Metronomy (I Am Aquarius)
