Lali Rubio (born in Barcelona in 1990) is a cinematographer who graduated from ESCAC. She currently lives between Barcelona and Madrid. After graduating, she worked on the short film ‘Benidorm 2017’, directed by Claudia Costafreda. The film won the Biznaga Award for Best Short Film at the Málaga Film Festival, after which Lali Rubio focused primarily on fiction cinematography for series and feature films. Her recent projects include ‘Yo Siempre a Veces’ (directed by Claudia Costafreda, Ginesta Guindal, and Marta Loza), ‘Los Años Nuevos’ (directed by Rodrigo Sorogoyen, Sandra Romero, and David Martín de los Santos), which premiered at the 2024 Venice International Film Festival, and the debut feature film ‘Esta Soledad’ (directed by Javi Giner).
Understanding each director’s vision and supporting them in developing a specific narrative is at the heart of Lali’s work as a cinematographer. This enables her to create the visual aesthetic for each project.
