Born in Barcelona, Lara Sánchez discovered the power of images through her family’s archive. She now seeks to convey the same emotions she once felt while watching the tapes her father filmed through her work.
She graduated from ESCAC with both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Cinematography. During her studies, she gained experience working on set and joining the camera department on various film productions. Her graduation project ‘Lluna de Sal’ directed by Mariona Martínez, premiered at the Seminci Film Festival, winning the Silver Spike for Best International Short Film.
Lara approaches each project with a unique perspective. She brings the narrative to life and prioritises expressing emotion. Guided by her lens, she plays with colour, the impact of light, and the force of composition, drawing inspiration from everyday moments and those that become magical.
