We’re thrilled to announce that the amazing work of our Planb Director of Photography Álex de Pablo has won the Best Cinematography Award at the Goya Awards of the Spanish Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for his stunning work at Rodrigo Sorogoyen’s feature film 'As Bestas' produced by Arcadia Motion Pictures, Caballo films, Cronos Entertainment and Le Pacte, has also won eight more awards including Best Film, Best Director & Best Actor in Leading and Supporting Role, Best Sound and Editing among others.

The feature film 'Cerdita' lensed by our Planb cinematographer Rita Noriega has also won Best Emerging Actress for the stunning work of Laura Galán.

We are happy to know that "As Bestas" is the favorite film in these awards with twelve important candidacies. Best Film, Best Direction, Best Scrip and Photography among others.
Also, "Alcarràs" with eight candidacies will compete to win some of the awards.

We're thrilled to welcome cinematographer Daniela Cajías to #Planb family!

Daniela Cajías was born in Bolivia and grows between cameras, lenses and the laboratory for photo development of her father at home. She began her photography studies in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she discovered the expressive and narrative possibilities of the image in the cinema. In Buenos Aires she decided to apply to the International Film and TV School (EICTV) of San Antonio de Los Baños in the specialization of Cinematography, she graduated in 2008.

Since then she has shot in Bolivia, Cuba, Colombia, Brazil, Mexico and Spain, among her films, are Alcarrás (2022), Las Niñas (2020), As Duas Irenes (2017) and The Eternal Night of the Twelve Moons (2013).
In 2021 she became the first woman in the 35-year history of the Goya Awards to win the award for best cinematography for her work in Las Niñas. Her latest movie Alcarràs, this year is the winner of the Golden Bear at the Berlinale Film Festival is a masterpiece of natural light, for this work, Daniela has just received her second nomination for best cinematography at the 37th edition of the Goya Awards 2023.

The EnergaCAMERIMAGE Festival was held from November 12th to 19th.
Cinematographer Oscar Faura, nominated for Best Cinematography for his fantastic work in 'LOTR: Rings of Power', gave a talk at the Festival about his work and experience shooting the first two episodes of the TV series in question, directed by J.A Bayona and produced by Amazon Studios.

Agent Blanca Aysa, founder and managing director of Planb, had been chosen to be a judge at the UK Music Video Awards (UKMVA) this year, in the cinematographers and director’s categories.

This year the festival will be staged in a brand new venue: Magazine London, which will make this year's event the biggest UKMVA so far.

The UKMVA will be held in London on Thursday 27 October 2022.

Born in the city of Caracas, Venezuela; Cinematographer Gregorio Acuña developed an interest in contrast.
Good and bad, light and dark, one is null without the other. Stories must contain balance.

For Gregorio cinematography is about capturing that balance so that the story can move forward and allow the viewer to be fully immersed.
During his career, he has worked for clients such as Oscar de La Renta, Discovery Channel, Neon16, Interscope, and Sony Music to name a few.

Toni was born in Barcelona. He always tried to intertwine multiple worldviews and narratives in every project he participates in.

For him emotionality is imminent, tapping into sensitivity is the most prolific way for him to unravel pure and honest visual storytelling. Beyond his talent, Toni is appreciated for his craft and professionalism.
Toni has been in a perpetual exploration of the profession, regularly testing new configurations and never moving without a camera in his hands, which allows him to sharpen his image work in all circumstances.

Planb Cinematographer Oscar Faura has lensed the first two chapters of what is known as the best series made on Amazon Prime “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings Of Power".

Planb Cinematographer Martí Herrera shot the Diia ‘Kyiv’ commercial which has received a Bronze Award at the International Festival of Creativity Cannes Lions under the category Creative Business Transformation.

Besides, ‘Motociclista’ short film directed by Eugen Merger and lensed by Planb Cinematographer Diego Rosenblatt, has won two Silver Awards at the Young Director Awards at Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

Directed by Rodrigo Sorogoyen, this psychological thriller is about a middle-aged French couple who moves to a local village, seeking closeness with nature where their presence inflames two locals to the point of outright hostility and shocking violence.

The 2022 edition of the Ciclope Latino Awards Festival will take place on May 25th in Sao Paulo.

'Camila Comes Out Tonight' the fourth feature film of director Inés Barrionuevo, lensed by Planb cinematographer Constanza Sandoval will compete at the official selection of the 69th San Sebastian International Film Festival, which will take place from September 17 to 25.

'Camila Comes Out Tonight' tells the story of Camila, a teenager who is forced to move to Buenos Aires when her grandmother becomes seriously ill. She leaves behind her friends and a liberal public high school for a traditional private institution. The adolescent's fierce but premature temper is put to the test.

The new feature film of director Óscar Aibar ‘El Sustituto’ lensed by Planb cinematographer Álex de Pablo will compete at the official selection of the 24th edition of Festival de Málaga.

Set in Sapin in 1982, a young police officer from Madrid accepts a destination in a seaside town with the hope of curing his daughter and gaining some peace of mind. Once there, he is involved in investigating the strange murder of the inspector he has to replace. The investigations will take him to a beach hotel where a community of elderly Nazis, claimed by many countries for crimes against humanity, lives a heavenly and happy retreat.

‘Farrucas’ lensed by Planb cinematographer Gina Ferrer will compete in the official selection of fiction short films at Festival de Málaga

Directed by Ian De La Rosa & produced by Vayolet Films, Amplitud & Primo Cine, 'Farrucas' tells the story of Hadoum, Fátima, Sheima and Sokayna, four teenagers from El Puche, a suburb of Almería, proud of their Moroccan and Spanish roots. Together they face their first experiences in institutes outside the neighborhood, making evident the deficiencies of their environment. On Fatima's eighteenth birthday, the strength of their self-confidence will be put to the test.

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has revealed the nominees for the 48th annual Daytime Emmy Awards, which will be presented on June 25 th in primetime on CBS and Paramount+.

The new feature film of director Agustí Villaronga 'The Belly of the Sea' lensed by Planb cinematographer Josep M. Civit and Blai Tomàs will compete at the official selection of the 24th edition of Festival de Málaga.

‘The Belly of the Sea’ is based on the events narrated in Alessandro Barrico's novel 'Oceano Mare’. After the sinking of a ship, 147 men try to survive, confined in a raft adrift in the middle of the sea. This shipwreck was immortalized by Théodore Géricault in the famous canvas 'The Raft of the Medusa', kept in the Louvre Museum.

Persona is the cinematographer duo formed by Mario Lerma and Alex Rapariz. They have recently shot Motorola's latest commercial 'Born out of Lockdown', and ‘Wunderkammer SS19’ for Palomo Spain with director Kito Muñoz. Pablo was born in Barcelona but has developed most of his work in the US, he had the honour of photographing a number of Hollywood stars including Mickey Rourke, Kris Kristofferson, Bruce Dern, Denise Richards, Dolph Lundgren, and Jason Patric. In the present is a member of the AEC (the Spanish Society of Cinematographers).

Ivan Hugo studied Photography at the University of the Arts London, followed by set lighting at the Mountview Academy of theatre arts, where he was taught in scenography lightning. In 2008, inspired by the neon lights, handheld shots and documentary style of the films of Wong Kar-Wai, Christopher Doyle and several visits to Asia, he settled home for eight years in Tokyo “in search of light” now he's settled in London but works around the globe.

The short film 'La Última Virgen' has received the Best Fiction Short Film Award (Biznaga de Plata) in the 21st edition of Festival de Málaga (2018). Short film with cinematography by Planb DOP Lucas Casanovas, directed by Bàrbara Farré and produced by ESCAC Films.

The Short Film has also been awarded in the Medina del Campo Film Festival with the Best Sound and Best Costume Design Awards with a Jury Special Mention at her director, Bàrbara Farré.

Moreover in CreatRivas 2018, Bàrbara Farré received the Best Direction Jury Award.

'The Short Film focuses on an uncomfortable reality without judging the characters, demonstrating great command of the cinematographic language' according to the Malaga Film Fest.

The Get Noticed panel has always garnered considerable interest. For four years Camerimage Festival has been doing the best to assist young people with professional know-how so that they can navigate the world of cinema with greater awareness. Building one’s image in this line of business is an art well practiced by the specialized agents of the panel. This year, too, they are going to try and answer the question ‘How do I get noticed?’ During the fourth edition of the panel, the agents will elaborate on how to start your career path after graduating film school and how to stand out from other young and talented artists. The Question & Answer section will be integral to our meeting. It offers a unique opportunity to get tips from professionals on how to create your brand in the film industry.

We are very happy to welcome Director of Photography Lucas Casanovas to Planb as a new talent with a high personal stamp and a great future.

Lucas has had the opportunity to work with a range of production companies, including Canada and Sofa Experience. He is currently with an audiovisual artists collective known as YVERZ, working on small projects, all bearing their highly personal stamp.

The director of photography, Josep Civit is in London shooting ‘Born a King‘, the new film by Agustí Villaronga.

"The feature film takes place in the 1920s, when there was a desire to unify Saudi Arabia: England supplied weapons to all of the tribes so that they would fight among themselves. It will cover the childhood of the future King Faisal, who went to England as a child to resolve the conflict. He is a boy of 14 or 15 who is suddenly opened up to the world: he went from the desert to the cosmopolitan city of London, where a tap with running water was already quite a discovery. And he had to grapple with English diplomacy, which was a real nest of vipers.” says Villaronga.

The shooting starts in London in June and will go on in Saudi Arabia in October. It's a co-production between Lolafilms, Celtic Films Entertainment and Saudi Arabia.

We are pleased to announce Director of Photography Gris Jordana has joined Planb roster. Gris after beginning her career in documentaries, she has gone on to make more than ten feature films in Africa, Latin America and Europe, as well as several music videos and commercials.

Commitment, speed and grace are the keywords to describe her work, which demonstrates a mastery of natural light, based on the premise that simplicity is beauty.

She believes her narrative approach and particular sensitivity are the most important contributions she brings to any project she works on.

Director of photography Eloi Molí is in Sofia shooting 'All the Good Ones Get Away ', feature film directed by Víctor García and produced by Get Away Films, AIE., starring Claire Forlani, Dougray Scott and Jake Abel.

The feature film is a thriller about a weekend get-away for two lovers that turns into a nightmare of psychological mind games.

The short film is a fiction based in real facts, it's about a couple who waits for their first son and who loses one of their cats, this will trigger fears and differences between them. The story is also starred by Aina Clotet and Marcel Borràs.

'Finding Sofia' last film by Nico Casavecchia, with direction of photography by Eloi Molí and produced by 1st Ave Machine, will release in the BAFICI 2016.

The film is a fish-out-of-water comedy about self-acceptance about a young filmmaker who makes a rash decision and buys a ticket to Buenos Aires to pay a surprise visit to Sofía, a mysterious girl he met on the Internet. Once he arrives, he discovers that Sofia lives with her artist boyfriend and his assistant.

'The Corpse of Anna Fritz' and its impeccable craftsmanship allowed its disturbing plot to rise above juvenilia and become something not necessarily terrifying but certainly bleak and brutal.

Set almost exclusively in a morgue where the body of world famous actress Anna Fritz is currently resting, the film is cut from similar thematic cloth as Deep Web, asking three young men and the viewers how far they would be willing to go to save themselves.
