
We're thrilled to welcome cinematographer Daniela Cajías to #Planb family!
Daniela Cajías was born in Bolivia and grows between cameras, lenses and the laboratory for photo development of her father at home. She began her photography studies in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she discovered the expressive and narrative possibilities of the image in the cinema. In Buenos Aires she decided to apply to the International Film and TV School (EICTV) of San Antonio de Los Baños in the specialization of Cinematography, she graduated in 2008.
Since then she has shot in Bolivia, Cuba, Colombia, Brazil, Mexico and Spain, among her films, are Alcarrás (2022), Las Niñas (2020), As Duas Irenes (2017) and The Eternal Night of the Twelve Moons (2013).
In 2021 she became the first woman in the 35-year history of the Goya Awards to win the award for best cinematography for her work in Las Niñas. Her latest movie Alcarràs, this year is the winner of the Golden Bear at the Berlinale Film Festival is a masterpiece of natural light, for this work, Daniela has just received her second nomination for best cinematography at the 37th edition of the Goya Awards 2023.
