Nilo is a native of Barcelona. From a young age he was involved in filmmaking by standing in front of the camera. It was on set where he cultured his love for cinematography. This led him to study Audiovisual Communication at the Ramon Llull University in Barcelona and then move on to Los Angeles to attend the prestigious American Film Institute (AFI) where he got his MFA on Cinematography. After that Nilo lived and worked in Los Angeles for a while until the longing for his hometown made him cross the big puddle once again. He is now based out of Barcelona, but incessantly travels and goes back to LA whenever he can or whenever work demands him.
Nilo is passionate about cinematography. Every day he admires nature to further his mastery in creating and shaping light. His personal philosophy on image-making is best described by William Morris’ words: “Nothing useless can be truly beautiful”.
