Àlvar was born in Barcelona but he was raised between the city and the mountains. His contact with nature and simple things made him obsessed with light, and the fuss of the city made him curious about how he could share his point of view. This led him to study cinematography at ESCAC, where he graduated in Direction of Photography.

His proactive personality makes him always searching for new ideas and new ways to push his boundaries. For him, every project has its own purpose and a way to tell it.

Àlvar believes that the process and the experiences you have while making a project are essential for the result of it, as well as the strength of intuition and the risk of it.
